27th April 2018
On the 21st April 2018, 2203 (Hatfield & de Havilland) Squadron were fortunate enough to present our new Squadron badge to parents and VIP's at the prestigious de Havilland aircraft museum.
The badge has been a work of progress for the last 12 months and serves as a refresh to the squadron accurately representing the history and roots of Hatfield and the de Havilland heritage that can be found in Hatfield.
VIP's on the day included Mr John Tunesi, responsible for the design of the new badge as well as Hertfordshire & Buckinghamshire Wing Commander; Wg Cdr Ross Gilbert and both the mayor of Hatfield Town Council and the mayor of Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council.
The badge, which was delivered to the OC a month ago, has been under cover until it was presented to all those attending on the day.
The event began on the day with a tour around the de Havilland aircraft museum, followed by an inspection from Wg Cdr Gilbert before finally being revealed. Photos were then taken to celebrate the occasion.
The squadron would like to thank our VIP's who attended this memorable day for the squadron with special thanks to Mr John Tunesi for helping the squadron design the new badge.
